Welcome to theTVproject.com
Be a part of internet and television history.
Join our worldwide online writing team and have your words put on screen.

UPDATE: We are currently working on a new layout for the website. This should be online soon. In the meantime please keep sending in your writing and keep posting questions and feedback on the forum. We have already had some good writing sent in (which will be online with the new website layout), despite the fact the website has not been advertised yet so keep it coming!

Ever watched a tv show and thought "I can write something better than that"? Always fancied yourself as a writer but never had the right outlet? Want to showcase your talents in a brief form but one which will be seen by all the right people? Scared to write a tv show for fear of it not being taken up by a studio? Want to get into advertising but don't have the right cv? Have an idea for a funny scene or character but can't write a whole series?
Then you have come to the right place. The TV project is a first in internet and television history. No need to worry about any such thing as this project allays all such fears. The idea behind it is what some may call fan fiction or interactive scriptwriting, open source screenwriting or community writing, others may think of it as an online sitcom, collaborative fiction, a shared universe, or a web serial, yet others will view it as an experimental advertising showcase for would be writers.
The TV Project is all those things and more. We welcome anyone and everyone to contribute to this project. From submitting a single scene or a one-liner to writing a full episode, everyone is welcome to write for us. Think of yourself as an editor then we cater for that too. Edit or rewrite a scene or an episode or combine previously submitted scenes into a full episode, it's all possible.

As a community we stand far more chance of success than as lone individuals and even before the website is up and running, the project has been attracting attention, not only with prospective writers but also with people inside the television industry and even a few book publishers.

Once the first season has been written, edited, re-written and re-edited until it is of a publishable standard, we will be pitching the series to the studios. The first few episodes will be animated and story boarded by an internationally recognised animator so it is entirely possible that the series will be picked up long before it is completed but we'll play that by ear.

As you will notice there are more links than just The Series which is the main feature of this project. Please check out the Info page for each section as this will give you more information about the grand nature of this project and give you the background and character information you will need to be able to start writing for the project.
For more information about the project, who we are and where this project is heading, please visit the About page.
For more information about how to contribute and what rights you as a writer will get, please visit the Contribute page.
If you wish to advertise on this website please visit the Advertise page for more information.
And don't forget to pay a visit to our very own message board to discuss anything related to this project, ask us questions, show off your skills or simply talk about your writing experiences. You can access this by clicking on the Forum link.

All the best, Stephen and Thomas.
