We are working on a whole new website layout as the current one does
not meet the standards that we wish for the project. There is no point
in attracting a million visitors if they are not going to be drawn in.
New website will be ready after the festive period when we will (finally)
be advertising the site. In the meantime if you happen upon this website
and are interested in writing for the show or contacting us for any
reason then please feel free to do so.

The Copyright is now in and we are officially protected. The bare minimum
we need to go live is on the website so it's all systems go. We are
now accepting submissions though it will no doubt take quite some time
before written work starts trickling in.
Over the course of the next few weeks we will be adding little bits
to the website and we will start getting the website advertised. Word
of mouth though will be crucial in the beginning phase so don't be shy
to tell your friends about this project.

A little tweak to the logo and it is starting to look more reasonable.
Have had a chat with a couple of published authors today, as they say
you can never have enough advice and this is certainly true for us.
The characters page is finally online. This will be expanded as the
series makes progress but for the moment we wanted to leave them as
open as possible but keeping within the initial boundaries we wanted
to set.
Having used the title "Lessons never learned" in all our three
projects a quick google search revealed that somebody has already used
this as a title for a rock single. The group "No fun at all"
released this song in (as far as we can tell) 1999, not long after we
came up with the title ourselves. This is purely coincidental as till
2001 we had never mentioned the title to anybody outside ourselves.
Having downloaded a quick preview of the song it is (thankfully) a million
miles away from our taste and our vision of our project. However seeing
our beloved title being used by another party has inspired us to write
a brief history of our own "Lessons never learned", particularly
as sites such as the all conquering IMDB
are still listing the old visions of the project. This history will
appear on the "About" page tonight
(so long as not too many more beers come out of the fridge). UPDATE:
Beer has not quite come in the way of finishing the about page. However
it has certainly hampered uploading. Time to call it a day me thinks.
20 October 2006
All pages of the website are now online with at least a little information
about the progress. The characters page will be worked on next and will
hopefully be online this weekend.
With our artistic friend tied up with other things we've had to edit
the logo ourselves in order to avoid any possible image rights infringements.
Well, as you can see the logo has become a bit rubbish as graphic design
isn't really our forte! Hopefully we'll have a decent version done up
for us soon!
14 October 2006
The Series info page has been online for a couple of days and we are
busy polishing off the characters page to go with it. This just needs
a little tidying up.
We discovered a new phrase yesterday whilst browsing the internet: "fan
fiction" (or is it "fanfiction" without the space?).
We knew this sort of thing existed but did not know there was a special
phrase for it. Having seen the phrase used, a quick google search revealed
just how popular this phenomenon is. There must be a few million different
episodes of fan fiction on the internet and we must be talking about
hundreds of thousands of individuals writing the stuff which means that
this project already has a huge target audience just waiting to be reached.
It looks like we are going to be snowed under with work but that is
not a bad thing! The only question we have to ask ourselves now though
is when do we expand the project? We had planned on eventually setting
up a couple of other shows as well as selling the whole project idea
as a franchise for non English speaking nations. This was something
we had penned in for 2008 but may have to look at bringing it forward
if demand is high enough.
9 October 2006
Contact is soon to be made to four tv stars/agents requesting permission
to use their images in our logo. Hopefully positive responses will be
coming forth within a couple of weeks as we aim to go live by the end
of the month at the latest. Backup plan is in place in case of any problems.
Backup logo has gone to the artist for editing.
7 October 2006
Did somebody say the logo was ready? I fear that may have slipped out
somewhere along the line. It is all but ready bar the final images we
want on there. But of course we need to have the permission of the owners
of the image rights before we can call our logo final. Thanks to John,
Matt, Rohan and Robert for unknowingly allowing us to use their images
for the temporary logo!
4 October 2006
Meta tags, alt codes, copy and pasting, duplicate and rename. Oh the
joys of website creation. Could it also be time for a quick spelling
and grammar check?
27 September 2006
Final revision of the basic content making sure everything makes sense.
A few more tweaks needed and expansion of the background to the series.
Should be ready to go live in a few weeks.
23 August 2006
We have gone back to the drawing board on the website design. The new
design is ready for the content.
15 July 2006
Website progress is a slow and labored affair. We want everything to
be in tip top shape before going online. Final draft of the logo is
complete. Site skeleton is finished. First few advertisers are listed.
Main website content is coming along nicely. Next tasks will be to finish
the main content and then start getting the Info pages for each section
down. Copyright not yet applied for, this will be done once the website
is ready to be published online (due to the nature of the website and
the project it is paramount the copyright is handled correctly in order
to protect the series, the book, the movie, the idea, the website, etc.
Website copyrighting is a complicated process in itself, having only
very recently had the laws clearly defined).
9 June 2006
A world famous animator has been contacted about the possibility of
storyboarding the first few episodes. After discussing the possibilities
with one particular television studio (our first choice), it looks likely
that we will be pitching the series to them on the basis on the first
episode (script only). However for the sake of other studios and for
the website itself, animated storyboarding may yet be the way forward.
6 June 2006
A couple of book publisher contacts have expressed an interest. They
will be keeping an eye the series progress as well as the book.
5 June 2006
Website is coming along nicely. A few people have already expressed
their interest in writing for the series including one already in the
business. The buzz surrounding the project is very exciting considering
the website is not even online yet!
